Renewal is a natural and necessary process of shedding old perspectives and focusing on exciting opportunities ahead. So get ready for a reboot and press Ctrl+Alt+Del in certain areas of your life so all other areas will start to fall into place. Here are 10 ways to make a fresh start and live your best life in 2018:

1. Write a Personal Mission Statement

Start with a plan that provides a path for success. It should sum up who you are, what you stand for and what you will do to get to an expected outcome. It’s a powerful way to find focus and avoid distractions.

2. Reboot Your Calendar

If your current life is too jam-packed with activities and commitments, start re-creating your calendar from scratch. Reexamine things and question everything from your daily commute to the regular tasks and errands you do every day. In your new calendar, only schedule the essentials and the activities you love.

3. Try New Things

Now is the time to gain some life experience, consider new ideas and see the world. You can start small, by trying new foods, reading a new book and exploring the areas where you live. As you take bigger risks, both personally and professional, you will continue to broaden your perspective.

4. Change Your Diet

Kick your unhealthy foods habits, follow a detox plan and jump-start a weight loss program or commit to healthier eating habits. Improving your health, and being more conscious of how you treat your body, is always a positive game changer.

5. Upgrade Your Wardrobe

If you don’t feel like many things in your closet fit or look good, it’s time to go shopping and make a change. Feeling good in your clothes and developing a personal style can elevate your mood and set you on the road for greater success.

6. Plan a Retreat

Sometimes the fastest, easiest way to make a change is to get away from the day-to-day grind. We all need to get away from it all from time to time, especially when we start to experience burn out. Schedule a vacation or better yet, attend a retreat to focus on a certain aspect of your life to reconnect, revive and see results.

7. Be Approachable

Open yourself to new opportunities to start conversations. Talk to strangers, share your story and connect with others.

8. Declutter

A cluttered space equals a cluttered mind. Clean up the junk that has accumulated and clear out some stagnant energy.

9. Unplug

Take a break from technology, turn off the TV and put the phone and computer away. Allow more time to meditate, relax and be with your own thoughts, not the activities, musings and needs of everyone else.

10. Forgive

Guilt and grudges are burdens. Ask for forgiveness, forgive others and find resolutions. You can’t move forward without letting go of negative things from your past.
