5 Things You Should Bring with You on Your Next Flight
Flying may be the fastest way to travel, but it can be decidedly uncomfortable, especially if you have to take a long flight or endure a layover. To make your flight as comfortable as possible, bring a few items along with you as you travel. Here are five things you should always take on a plane when you fly.
1. A Freshen-Up Kit
Sitting in the same seat for several hours can make you feel a little less than fresh. Even though the airport lavatory is tiny, you can freshen up in just a few minutes if you pack a freshen-up kit in your carry-on. Use a clear gallon-sized resealable bag to pack wet wipes, a travel-sized deodorant, a travel toothbrush, a travel-sized toothpaste tube, and a pair of clean underwear. About an hour before the flight lands, take your freshen-up kit into the lavatory to give yourself a little refreshment.
2. Soothing Music
Bringing along your favorite music can help you put up with a long flight. Load your media player with your top soothing music tracks and let them play after your flight takes off. Try music for meditation or even audiobooks to help you relax as you travel. Don’t forget to bring your headphones so you can enjoy your music without disturbing your fellow passengers.
3. Sleep Mask and Ear Plugs
No matter how many comfy items you bring on the plane, you won’t be able to rest if there are other passengers making noise when you want to sleep. A wide sleep mask and a good set of ear plugs are essential if you want to try to catch some shut-eye on your flight. Try on your sleep mask first to make sure it fits without causing you any discomfort.
4. Something to Eat
Since airline meals have become smaller and smaller over the years, you could end up feeling quite hungry on a long flight. To avoid suffering from hunger pangs on the plane, bring along your favorite snacks in your carry-on bag. If you don’t want to make a mess, try dry snacks such as trail mix, bite-sized crackers, or raisins. Soft granola bars may also be a good choice, since they’ll take up a small amount of space in your bag.
5. A Great Book or Puzzle
Bring along a few items to read. If you have an e-reader, you’ll have access to hundreds of books on one device. Since you may not be able to use your device when the airplane is low, be sure to bring a print magazine as well. If you’d rather not read on the plane, a good crossword puzzle or Sudoku book may be right up your alley.
On your next flight, don’t forget to bring your freshen-up kit, music, sleep mask, snacks and your reading material. Doing so can make your flight much more comfortable. To take your flight from comfortable to luxurious, make sure you arrange a limo to pick you up at the airport after your arrival. As you ride to your hotel in the back seat of a limo, you might be able to get in some genuine relaxation time!
